Choosing your repairer should be your decision, not your insurer’s. A true “choice of repairer” policy lets you decide where your vehicle is repaired, helping protect both quality and cost.
Be aware of misleading policies that give the illusion of “Choice of preferred repairer,” but untimely don’t allow you to.
Always review your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) or speak directly with your insurer to understand your rights.
Watch for these policy clauses:
No Choice of repairer: Your insurer steers you toward one of their approved repairers. These repairers often handle high volumes of vehicles to which can impact repair quality or turnaround times.
Choice of repairer: You’re free to choose your own repairer, giving you access to expert workmanship and a more personalised service.
